Yamanashi Chuo Bank and Fukuoka Financial Group have strengthened collaboration with specialist firms serving high-net-worth individuals and launched an initiative to understand their values through art. They are building relationships through secondments and referrals, prompted by an invitation-only solo exhibition in Tokyo.
Yamanashi Chuo Bank and Fukuoka Financial Group have indicated a policy of deepening collaboration with specialist firms serving high-net-worth individuals, with the aim of expanding business with individuals holding more than ¥100 million in assets. They are exploring new ways for a regional bank to connect with this segment by creating points of contact centered on art to understand their values and preferences. The aim is to improve their understanding of high-net-worth individuals’ needs through personnel exchanges involving investments and business partnerships.
At an invitation-only solo exhibition held in Tokyo on 29 September, a representative from Yamanashi Chuo Bank’s Wealth Management Department attended a lecture and learned about the preferences of high-net-worth individuals through a lecture on artworks provided by Money Forward Private Bank, the representative’s secondment destination. This has accelerated efforts to strengthen relationship-building with high-net-worth individuals in Tokyo under the banner of the “Shin Tokyo Strategy.”
Going forward, the banks plan to increase opportunities to connect with wealthy individuals in Tokyo through local revitalization initiatives, including the realization of international events backed by high-net-worth individuals. At the same time, how to bridge the differences in financial attitudes and values between bank employees and wealthy individuals has been identified as a challenge, and the banks will pursue practical solutions through a one-year initiative starting in April.
