Takamatsu Machinery raised its consolidated ordinary income (loss) forecast for the April-September 2026 period from the previously projected loss to a profit of ¥90 million. The full-year forecast remains unchanged, with orders and sales of IT-related manufacturing equipment expected to exceed projections.
Takamatsu Machinery raised its ordinary income (loss) forecast for the cumulative second quarter (April-September) from the previously projected loss of ¥350 million to a profit of ¥90 million. The company is now expected to swing to a profit, compared with a loss in the same period of the previous year. The full-year ordinary income forecast remains unchanged at the previously projected profit of ¥179 million.
The company said the reason for the second-quarter earnings revision was that, in its IT-related manufacturing equipment business, orders and sales exceeded initial assumptions against a backdrop of strong semiconductor market conditions, contributing to overall company performance. Orders in the core machine tools business are also showing signs of improvement, and sales are expected to track the plan.
As a result, company-wide sales are expected to exceed the previous forecast. Profit is also expected to surpass the previous forecast, supported by higher sales, lower costs, tighter expense management and improved profitability on individual projects. The full-year forecast is currently under review, with future disclosure to follow.
The earnings forecast revision is linked to this interim earnings revision, with the swing to a first-half profit identified as a key point of focus.
