Nishimatsu Construction is developing a luxury ryokan in Kyoto’s Higashiyama Ward, where it will develop and own the land and buildings and outsource ryokan operations to Kyoto Nishimuraya. Yamashita Taiki (山下泰樹) is responsible for the architectural and interior design. ツバキデザイン is responsible for the detailed design of the wooden sections, while Nishimatsu Construction is responsible for the structural design and construction of the steel sections.
The facility is planned as a building with 2 basement levels and 3 above-ground floors, with a total floor area of 1,727 square metres. It will have 13 guest rooms and a restaurant. Each guest room will have its own hot-spring facilities, and the ryokan is expected to serve dishes featuring seasonal ingredients. Dishes using snow crab are also being considered for the winter season.
The site is in the vicinity of Kamibentencho, Higashiyama Ward, near Yasaka Shrine, Kodaiji Temple and Kiyomizudera Temple. It is approximately a 10-minute walk from Gion-Shijo Station on the Keihan Main Line.
