Sonos, the US-based audio brand, announced the new Beam Ultra. Building on the existing Beam, it is designed to deliver true 7.1.2 Dolby Atmos.
Beam Ultra is equipped with 9 custom drivers, 2 of which are designed for upward-firing sound, enhancing bass depth and the reproduction of an immersive sound field. The redesigned center channel also improves dialogue clarity.
Additional features include Night Sound for nighttime viewing and AI Speech Enhancement to support voice clarity and the viewing experience.
Beam Ultra can be expanded to suit different lifestyles and room configurations, including by adding a Sub or expanding the rear surround system. Portable speakers can also be used as rear surrounds.
The price is listed as undefined both before and including tax. Beam Ultra is scheduled to open for early preorders on 25 September and go on sale on 9 October.
