Meta announced new models of AI smart glasses and glasses-based VR devices at “Meta Connect 2026.” The lineup includes Ray-Ban Meta Gen 3, Ray-Ban Meta Audio, newly designed Meta Glasses and the approximately 100g next-generation VR device Meta VR Glasses. Launch timing and pricing information were also disclosed.
At Meta Connect 2026, the new Ray-Ban Meta Gen 3 is thinner than its predecessor and features adjustable temples, battery life of up to 9 hours and an action button on the side. The live translation feature was demonstrated, including a system that translates and plays back conversations in Spanish and Japanese through the smart glasses. The camera has 12MP resolution and can record 3K video, while the 6-microphone array was highlighted for its substantial noise reduction.
Ray-Ban Meta Audio has no camera and is a lightweight model focused on music playback and calls. It weighs 43g, offers up to 12 hours of playback and up to 48 hours with the charging case. It will be sold in the US from $349, with shipments scheduled to begin on 13 October, and is scheduled to launch in Japan in 2027.
Meta Glasses will add new Capri and Nova designs, along with the LISA collaboration models Adventurer LISA Edition and Capri LISA Edition, as well as new colors of Starfire from the Kylie Jenner collaboration. Mix-and-match sales will also expand beyond the US. Prices include ¥50,600 for Capri/Nova, ¥68,200 for LISA-related models and ¥42,680 for Meta Adventurer.
Meta VR Glasses feature a lightweight design weighing approximately 100g and adopt a new structure in which the glasses and an external pack are connected by an optical-fiber cable. The display is a micro-OLED 5K Infinite Display, with Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos support. Eye tracking, hand gestures and voice controls eliminate the need for controllers. The product is scheduled to launch in spring 2027 at $1,299.99. 3D content from Disney and ESPN, as well as VR Enhanced experiences, will also be supported.
