Nippon Access announced the results of its “New Product Grand Prix 2026 Fall/Winter.” The Grand Prix went to Calbee Potato’s Gochisou Mini Hash Potato & Stir-fried Corn, with all 99 entries participating in the judging. The entries comprised 33 processed foods, 16 beverages, 9 Western-style chilled foods, 8 Japanese-style chilled foods, 23 frozen foods and 10 ice cream products. Through tastings, the judges evaluated overall product strength, including not only taste, price and convenience, but also trend appeal, package design and naming.
Nippon Access President Hattori Shinya (服部 真也) said that, against the backdrop of the challenging environment facing the food industry, the company aims to create demand and revitalize the market by having consumers experience and evaluate products before their launch, and by broadly communicating not only their taste and quality but also the thinking and value behind their development. The top products in each category and the other awards were announced, including the Grand Prix and category winners.
