Apple has officially announced that it will hold a new product launch event on 9 September (2 a.m. JST on 10 September). The event is scheduled to be livestreamed on its website, with the main focus expected to be the company’s first foldable iPhone.
Bloomberg reported that the device will have an approximately 5.5-inch outer display and an approximately 7.8-inch inner display, allowing it to expand from a passport-sized folded form into a large-screen device. There is also speculation that the ideal design would have a crease that is barely visible when folded and come close to being completely flat when opened.
In terms of functionality, reports say preparations are under way to include native split-screen multitasking in iOS 27, allowing users to operate 2 apps simultaneously. Overseas analyst forecasts put the price at $1,999 to $2,500, while in Japan, it could exceed approximately ¥300,000.
