Leading semiconductor equipment maker マルマエ has revised its medium-term plan upward. Samsung Electronics' shareholder returns fell short of market expectations, while the Nikkei 225 extended its decline.
The Nikkei 225 has extended its decline, as investors adopt a wait-and-see stance ahead of developments in the US market and key events. Long-term interest rates and oil-market conditions have been cited as short-term factors, while major indexes moved without a clear direction.
Among semiconductor-related stocks, マルマエ updated its medium-term business plan, raising its sales target for the fiscal year ending August 2028 from ¥25 billion to ¥32 billion and its operating profit target from ¥5.6 billion to ¥8.2 billion. The revision reflects stronger-than-expected growth in semiconductor demand, improved capacity utilization and margin gains from a higher in-house production ratio.
Sanrio announced a business partnership with GENDA. The companies are considering increasing the frequency and scale of product rollouts at amusement facilities, primarily under the GiGO brand, as well as cross-sector collaboration in promotions and content in North America.
Oasis Management's stake in Infomart increased from 10.94% to 12.13%, and it has reportedly indicated a policy of continuing dialogue on data utilization and pricing strategies.
The market commentary also notes the view that Samsung Electronics' shareholder-return plan fell short of some expectations.
