Yoshimoto Kogyo and SBI Holdings said on the 14th that they had reached a basic agreement to enter into a strategic business alliance. They aim to develop new content and strengthen the global distribution of entertainment IP by combining Yoshimoto's IP assets and video production capabilities with SBI's capital and financial technology, while also involving third-party content holders.
The two companies announced plans to establish a joint venture as part of the alliance. Backed by a content fund of approximately ¥100 billion to be established by the SBI Group, they will pursue a wide range of new development projects covering variety shows, films, sports, anime, games, VTubers, XR live events and vertical short-form dramas.
To strengthen overseas expansion, they aim to use the SBI Group's global offices and partnership network to expand program formats overseas and increase the number of LIVE events. They also plan to promote content originating in regional areas by linking the regional revitalization network with Yoshimoto's local initiatives.
