Casio Computer will migrate to Proship’s ProPlus Ver.6 to prepare for application of the new lease accounting standard and strengthen its management control platform. The migration is designed to limit the impact on data migration and the financial closing process ahead of mandatory application in April 2027.
Casio Computer has used ProPlus as its fixed asset management system for many years, but decided to upgrade to ProPlus Ver.6 to comply with the new lease accounting standard and further strengthen its management control platform. The decision followed an announcement by Proship on 8 October.
Reasons cited for adopting ProPlus Ver.6 include the ability to migrate without significantly changing current operations, support for the new lease accounting standard through standard functionality, the establishment of a framework for responding quickly to changes in laws and regulations, and the ability to limit data migration risks and reduce the impact on the financial closing process.
After the migration, Casio plans to drive further operational efficiency based on the new platform and strengthen its management control framework.
Mandatory application of the new lease accounting standard is scheduled for April 2027, and Casio is expected to review and migrate its system platform accordingly.
