Terumo revised its consolidated net income forecast for the current fiscal year down from the previous forecast of ¥193.1 billion to ¥120 billion, resulting in an outlook for an 11.7% decline in net income. The revision reflects impairment losses on related assets following the termination of its supply agreement with CSL Plasma.
After the market close on 8 October, Terumo revised its full-year earnings forecasts for the current fiscal year on an IFRS basis. It cut its previously planned net income forecast from ¥193.1 billion to ¥120 billion, indicating that net income is also expected to decline from the previous fiscal year. The first-half earnings outlook remains undisclosed.
Under the new full-year earnings forecast, revenue is ¥1.2295 trillion, unchanged from ¥1.2295 trillion, operating profit is approximately ¥160 billion, net income is ¥120 billion, and the dividend per share remains ¥36. The forecast is based on achieving these results in the fiscal year ending March 2027. The revision rates were shown as -0.8% for revenue, -37.9% for operating profit and -37.9% for net income.
The reasons for the revision include impairment losses on related assets following the termination of the supply agreement with CSL Plasma, as well as business losses during the transition period and costs associated with the contract termination and business restructuring. Accordingly, the full-year forecasts for operating profit and profit attributable to owners of the parent were revised.
