Fujitsu is promoting its next-generation CPU, MONAKA, with the aim of capturing demand from AI data centers. Ahead of its earnings report on the 29th, the company has announced the start of MONAKA orders and its shipment plans.
Fujitsu aims to deliver both the high processing power and low power consumption required in the AI era with its next-generation CPU, “FUJITSU-MONAKA (MONAKA),” which brings together technology developed for Fugaku. Against a backdrop of growing demand from AI data centers, Fujitsu is pursuing a growth strategy centered on the CPU. The technology is expected to have spillover effects across Japan's semiconductor industry.
The company announced that orders for MONAKA will begin in November. With the start of orders now formally announced, efforts to develop new demand from data centers are becoming more realistic.
