The first installment of a series explaining the four Cs for Japanese companies to fully deploy AI agents has been published, with the full text available free of charge until 07:00 on 2 October 2026. The author is Sato Seiki (佐藤聖規).
A survey based on the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications’ White Paper on Information and Communications in Japan found that 86.4% of Japanese companies use generative AI in their operations, while only 27% have organization-wide, cross-functional initiatives, indicating that adoption at the organizational level has yet to advance. The report points out that building mechanisms to combine data and knowledge with AI will be key to moving AI agents from the proof-of-concept stage into production use. Against this backdrop, this is the first installment of a series explaining the four elements for accelerating AI adoption by Japanese companies: “Context,” “Choice,” “Control” and “Cost.”
From the second installment onward, the series will examine concepts such as structuring business knowledge and ontologies, and explore in greater detail the practical preparations companies need to make to deploy AI agents in production. The elements are not a parallel checklist but interdependent foundations, with establishing Context as the first step.
