As Russia’s military invasion of Ukraine continues, executives of Ukrainian companies visited Kobe and sought technological cooperation with Japanese companies in AI and drones.
More than 20 companies participated in the event, including Japanese companies with drones capable of long-distance and nighttime flight and Ukrainian companies with advanced AI capabilities.
There was strong interest in mine-detection technology developed by Japanese companies, including drone technology for detecting landmines from the air. AI companies suggested that the technology could potentially replace conventional mine-clearance methods.
The event indicated plans to deepen cooperation not only on civilian drones but also on the development of defense drones.
