Mobile Factory announced a settlement in the dispute over its acquisition of Suishow, and was reported to expect a special gain from receipt of the settlement payment and reversal of unpaid consideration. YUKE'S was also bought on the view that dilution concerns had eased.
Tokyo equities were on a downward trend in the morning session on 2 October, with the Nikkei Average falling from the previous day's close. Although selling was prominent across game and entertainment-related stocks, Mobile Factory attracted buying on company-specific news. By issue, Konami Group and Capcom traded higher, while some stocks, including Sega Sammy Holdings and Square Enix Holdings, traded lower. Buying in YUKE'S led the market as dilution concerns eased.
Mobile Factory was reported to have reached a settlement in the dispute over its acquisition of Suishow, which had continued through the previous day, and to expect a special gain from receipt of the settlement payment and reversal of unpaid consideration. The company is expected to post more than 30% growth in net profit for the fiscal year ending December 2025, which is being viewed as a positive catalyst, although some believe the impact on the share price will be limited.
Meanwhile, buying entered YUKE'S as views spread that measures had reduced potential dilution risk amid the continuing gap between the exercise price and the share price. The broader market moved sideways owing to a lack of market-moving catalysts.
