TESS Holdings has received an order for a grid-scale battery storage facility with capacity of approximately 8.2 MWh in Yasugi City, Shimane Prefecture. The facility will have PCS output of approximately 1,995 kW and battery capacity of 8,224 kWh, and will use 16 units manufactured by Sungrow. Delivery is scheduled for February 2027.
TESS Engineering, a consolidated subsidiary of TESS Holdings, has received an order to install a grid-scale battery storage facility to be operated by 合同会社クラダシ・インベストメント2号. The facility will be installed in Yasugi City, Shimane Prefecture, with battery capacity of approximately 8.2 MWh. Delivery is scheduled for February 2027.
Demand for grid-scale battery storage facilities is expanding in this market as renewable energy becomes more widespread. TESS Holdings is also shifting its battery business toward a structure in which battery-related projects account for most of its order backlog. The market is becoming more active, with competitors also advancing large-scale projects.
The facility will have PCS output of 1,995 kW and battery capacity of 8,224 kWh. The battery system is planned to use 16 Sungrow 514-kWh units. TESS Engineering plans to complete the facility in February 2027 by leveraging its integrated service platform, which covers everything from site development and financing for grid-scale battery storage facilities to design and procurement, construction, maintenance and aggregation.
The project is part of the company's efforts to achieve the TX2030 medium-term management plan target of 700 MW in cumulative construction capacity for grid-scale battery storage facilities. Against the backdrop of changes in the balancing market, efforts to promote the adoption of battery storage systems are expected to continue.
