The package was recognised for combining safety and comfort, with a focus on ease of wearing and freedom of movement, while reflecting feedback from construction sites.
Taisei Corporation announced that Taisei Corporation Sefstyle, a package of safety equipment for construction sites developed in cooperation with TJM Design, has won the 2026 Good Design Award. The award is organised by the Japan Institute of Design Promotion.
Sefstyle standardises how safety equipment and tools used on construction sites are worn and is designed to allow the necessary equipment to be combined according to the work being performed. It was developed with consideration not only for functionality, but also for ease of wearing, freedom of movement and comfort.
Development was carried out jointly by Taisei Corporation and TJM Design. While incorporating feedback from construction sites, the companies reviewed not only the equipment itself but also how it is used and operated. Rollout began in June 2025, and efforts to improve awareness and ease of use at construction sites were among the factors recognised by the award.
The company intends to continue making improvements based on feedback from construction sites and to promote the development of working environments that combine safety and comfort.
