SUZUYO SHINWART CORPORATION has begun offering an in-vehicle device for AsaRepo's alcohol interlock function. Combining the app with the in-vehicle device integrates vehicle unlocking and engine starting into a single process.
SUZUYO SHINWART CORPORATION, a company based in Minato-ku, Tokyo, announced that it began offering an in-vehicle device for AsaRepo, its cloud service for pre-drive alcohol checks, on the 28th. This enables alcohol detection and vehicle unlocking to be completed using the company's own device and dedicated app.
An alcohol interlock is a mechanism that controls engine starting based on the results of a pre-drive alcohol test. When a driver takes a test using the app and a designated detector, the cloud automatically determines whether unlocking is permitted. If unlocking is permitted, the app sends an instruction to the in-vehicle device via Bluetooth, allowing the engine to be started.
Administrators can check who unlocked which vehicle and when, and an emergency unlock function is available when communication is unavailable. Once communications are restored, the action record is added to the unlock history. A maintenance mode is also available, allowing the interlock to be temporarily disabled with approval during vehicle inspections and servicing.
With the launch of the in-vehicle device, alcohol detection and the interlock can be managed through the dedicated AsaRepo app. SUZUYO SHINWART CORPORATION also provides end-to-end support, from arranging the device through contracting, billing and post-implementation inquiries.
