こととや, operated by エステールホールディングス, has published Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 of a feature focused on the flavors of autumn. Two store managers compare domestically produced dried sweet potatoes along with snacks made from sweet potatoes, chestnuts and beans, introducing their characteristics and recommended pairings.
Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 of “Autumn Favorites: Store Managers Try Them” have been published. Vol. 1 compares dried sweet potatoes made from roasted sweet potatoes from Tochigi Prefecture with the Tanehou variety of flat-dried sweet potatoes from Ibaraki Prefecture, introducing differences in their rich, sticky sweetness and chewiness. The two store managers discuss the distinctive qualities of each product while showcasing the appeal of autumn snacks.
Vol. 2 features “Golden Dried Sweet Potatoes from Tokachi, Hokkaido,” made with the Beni Haruka variety from Tokachi, Hokkaido. Other products include imo chips from a mirin producer, chestnut confections and bean snacks. The feature compares a lineup different from the September edition and introduces differences in ingredients and texture.
The managers also try pairing the snacks with tea. By combining them with teas such as aromatic roasted green tea and Chiran tea, the feature presents the pairings and autumn snack time as new ways to enjoy the season.
The feature includes links to the pages introducing Vol. 1 and Vol. 2, together with related company information and contact details. Similar initiatives are expected to be developed in the future.
