Open House Group and BUB are collaborating to develop BUB RESORT Minakami by taking over an existing minshuku adjacent to Houdaigi Ski Resort in Minakami, Gunma. A preview opening is scheduled for December 2026, with the facility aiming to operate year-round across two buildings, an accommodation building and a restaurant and activities building.
Open House Group and BUB have begun developing a new facility, BUB RESORT Minakami, on a site adjacent to Houdaigi Ski Resort in the Fujiwara area of Minakami, Gunma Prefecture. The preview opening is scheduled for December 2026, with construction to proceed in stages before transitioning to a grand opening with all guest rooms available.
The new facility will comprise two buildings, an accommodation building and a restaurant and activities building. An existing former minshuku will be renovated and transitioned to year-round operations. Taking advantage of its location within the ski area, the project aims to expand tourism in the region, which has traditionally focused on winter, into a year-round stay experience.
Through its BUB RESORT development centered on experience-based accommodation, BUB will create new value in stays using Minakami's resources. Open House Group will draw on its expertise in regional co-creation and sustainable regional revitalization. The companies aim to create opportunities for stays throughout the year by collaborating with initiatives such as the revitalization of the hot spring district.
As part of the future rollout, partial operations will begin with selected guest rooms at the December 2026 preview opening, followed by a transition to a grand opening with all guest rooms available. Details such as the number of rooms, prices and reservation start date will be announced once finalized.
