On 27 August, 日本アクセス held a presentation event at its headquarters for the “New Product Grand Prix 2026 Fall/Winter” and selected カルビーポテト's Gochiso Mini Hash Potato & Stir-Fried Corn as the overall Grand Prix winner. A record-high 84 companies and 99 products entered this year's Grand Prix.
The judging was conducted by 120 members of the general public registered with 日本アクセス's official LINE account.
The product also took first place in the frozen food category, giving it a double win in the overall and category rankings. At the presentation, President Tasaki Kazuya (田崎一也) explained that development had taken 2 years and that the value lay in the small finishing touch of approximately 3 minutes of microwave cooking. He also said the company currently uses domestically grown potatoes and aims to create the best possible product for preparation in a frying pan.
As part of its efforts to connect producers with consumers, the company said it would continue diversifying and expanding potato-growing regions and supporting producers by purchasing produce from designated planted areas. The award-winning product is expected to help expand new sales channels for frozen foods and stabilize supply.
President Hattori Shinya (服部真也) of 日本アクセス noted that the initiative had reached its 35th edition and said the company would seek to create new demand and revitalize the market through in-store promotions and communications via its official TikTok account. The award-winning products on display were recognized for combining restaurant- and specialty-store-level taste with shorter preparation times, as well as for their high level of convenience.
