To mark the 50th anniversary of Fujicco's simmered-beans brand "Omamesan," an open class and an event featuring a performance of "Omame Samba" were held at Arakawa Ward's municipal Ogudai 6th Elementary School in Tokyo. A supplementary teaching materials giveaway is also being held.
To mark the 50th anniversary of its simmered-beans brand "Omamesan," Fujicco held an open class at Arakawa Ward's municipal Ogudai 6th Elementary School in Tokyo on 13 October and opened a class focused on food education to the public.
President Fukui Shoichi (福井 正一) took part in the class as an instructor, explaining Japanese traditional washoku culture using beans as a theme, the nutritional value of beans, and the importance of the phrase "itadakimasu."
At the event, choreographer Akane (akane) demonstrated the choreography for "Omame Samba," while the uniformed bob-cut dance group Avantgardey made a surprise appearance and performed.
Fujicco is running a special promotion to give away copies of the supplementary teaching material "Delicious Japan: Itadakimasu Reader," used in the open class. The offer is open to school personnel, individuals and others, with Fujicco covering the booklet and shipping costs. Applications will be accepted through the end of November.
