As an indicator of the domestic threat, 607 cyberattacks were recorded in Japan from January to September, exceeding the 594 recorded in full-year 2025. CEO Chen stressed the need for cooperation between the public and private sectors, including individuals, at an online press conference, and said that Japan as a whole is facing cyber risks.
For individuals, the company will provide a smartphone scam-prevention app free of charge for 90 days. CEO Chen pointed to the way AI is enhancing attackers’ skills and called on readers to shift to defensive systems adapted to the AI era. He also mentioned concerns about the increasing sophistication of phishing scams and the risk that they could lead to other attacks.
