NEXROC Group and SVCV were reportedly considering a tender offer for 25–50% of JYP shares in connection with a potential Japanese-backed acquisition. JYP denied having received any proposal. Its share price surged more than 14% in after-hours trading.
NEXROC Group and SVCV indicated that they intended to launch a tender offer for 25–50% of the issued shares of JYP Entertainment, saying it could begin as early as the 20th of next month. They were reportedly considering a price incorporating a 30% premium to the reference share price, with the method for calculating the reference price and the final offer price to be determined at a later date.
Late that night, JYP denied the report, stating, “Regarding the matter reported today, we have never received a proposal related to the acquisition of our shares,” and adopted a cautious stance while confirming the facts.
Following news of the tender offer, JYP's share price reacted sharply in the after-hours market of the Korea Exchange. It closed at ₩42,150, up 14.38% from the previous day's close, after briefly rising to ₩44,000 during the session.
Market participants pointed out that the announcement concerned a large-scale acquisition and differed from the usual procedure, in which proof of funds is provided in advance. Some also said that the presence or absence of disclaimer language and an explanation of the funding source would be key to determining the credibility of the matter.
