アルファ lowered its previous fiscal year's ordinary profit forecast to a 34.4% decline, reversing its previous outlook. The outlook for the second half of the current fiscal year also shifted to a loss, while revenue is expected to remain at around the same level as in the previous year and the ¥70 year-end dividend is planned to be maintained.
アルファ<4760> announced an earnings forecast revision after the close on 6 October. It lowered its full-year forecast for consolidated ordinary profit from the previous ¥250 million to ¥147 million, resulting in an unavoidable swing into a loss and an expected 34.4% decline in profit.
The forecast for consolidated ordinary profit and loss in the second half was also revised, from the previous forecast of a ¥90 million profit to a ¥13 million loss; the same period of the previous year recorded a ¥87 million profit. As a result, the current fiscal year's full-year plan is expected to result in a loss.
The company cited the following reasons for the revision: although revenue remained solid, as in the previous fiscal year, the gross profit margin declined because of weak sales of custom-order products and higher costs. Increases in selling, general and administrative expenses, mainly personnel expenses, weighed on profit.
