東映アニメーション revised its full-year forecast for the fiscal year ending March 2027. Revenue is expected to fall below the previous forecast due to the impact of production-delivery delays, but profit items are expected to be revised upward on strong distribution-rights sales.
東映アニメーション announced that it had revised its consolidated earnings forecast for the fiscal year ending March 2027. Revenue is expected to fall below the previous forecast, but factors are in place to push profits above forecast.
Revenue is expected to fall below the initial assumptions because production deliveries have shifted into the second half, while highly profitable distribution-rights sales, particularly in Europe and North America, have continued to perform well. As a result, overall profit items are expected to exceed the previous forecast.
The revised full-year forecast calls for revenue of ¥98.2 billion, operating profit of ¥26.4 billion, ordinary profit of ¥27.7 billion and net profit of ¥20.0 billion, all above the previous forecast.
The company said that during the cumulative second quarter period (April–September), revenue fell below the initial assumptions because of the shift into the second half, but profits were supported by strong distribution-rights sales.
