Niigata-based Axial Retailing has relaunched its steamed pork bun with a 65:35 golden ratio of wrapper to filling. Made with pork and bamboo shoots and seasoned in a Chinese style, it seeks to balance fluffy dough with a juicy filling.
Axial Retailing announced that it will relaunch its private-label steamed pork bun, “Axial Nikuman,” at its 原信, ナルス and フレッセイ stores in Nagaoka. The wrapper-to-filling ratio is set at 65:35, with an emphasis on balancing fluffy dough and a juicy filling.
The filling is made with pork and bamboo shoots and has a Chinese-style seasoning with ginger. The flour blend has been refined to create a soft, melt-in-the-mouth dough.
The product comes in individual microwaveable packaging. By making a cut at the edge of the bag, it can be heated in the bag without using plastic wrap. Each pack contains 1 bun and is sold at ¥178 before tax as a refrigerated product.
