メンバーズ, which provides digital business support, sharply lowered its operating profit forecast for the fiscal year ending March 2027 from ¥2.5 billion to ¥200 million. Its 1 October closing price ended at the ¥770 limit-down price.
メンバーズ announced that it had lowered its operating profit forecast for the fiscal year ending March 2027 by 92%, from ¥2.5 billion to ¥200 million, and its closing price that day ended at the ¥770 limit-down price.
Under the new full-year forecast, revenue is expected to be ¥25 billion, ordinary profit ¥200 million and net profit ¥150 million, representing substantial declines from the previous fiscal year. The company also said it had swung to an operating loss in the interim period.
The main factor was that demand for routine coding and design production contracted more than expected as generative AI spread rapidly. The obsolescence of its on-site business model and a decline in utilization following its withdrawal from web operations also had an impact.
The company said it was moving ahead with plans to redirect personnel to the DX and AX fields, but had not been able to offset the interim loss because of its withdrawal from low-priced projects and delays in shifting to new fields. It aims to recover from the second half onward, but market sentiment remains severe.
