Reason for the revision

Interim consolidated net sales were below forecast because the number of international visitors staying at hotels in the Kansai area declined. In addition to the resulting decrease in profit, operating expenses increased, including depreciation and amortization and share-based compensation expenses for the 10th stock option issuance. The full-year forecast remains unchanged because revenue tends to be concentrated in the fourth quarter and revenue growth is expected to continue in the second half at hotels in the Tokyo area and in the cemetery business.

The reasons the company gives

The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers.

Net sales were below forecast because the number of international visitors staying at hotels in the Kansai area declined, resulting in lower profit. In addition, operating expenses increased, including depreciation and amortization and share-based compensation expenses for the 10th stock option issuance, while non-operating expenses such as interest expense were also incurred. The full-year forecast remains unchanged because hotel revenue tends to be concentrated in the fourth quarter, and revenue growth is expected to continue in the second half at hotels in the Tokyo area and in the cemetery business.
