「The ATMs held by certain overseas subsidiaries of our group had previously been depreciated over a useful life of 5 years. As operating experience with these assets accumulated, we conducted surveys of their operating conditions and determined that they could be used for longer than previously expected. Accordingly, beginning with the current consolidated fiscal year, we revised their useful life to 8 years and applied the change prospectively. As a result of this change, ordinary profit and profit before income taxes for the current consolidated fiscal year each increased by ¥583 million compared with the previous method.」
