Reason for the revision

The revision reflects a decline in the customer base resulting from the reorganization into generation-specific business domains with clearly defined customer targets, order shortfalls in the mail-order business due to delays in the progress and realization of the effects of digital-shift initiatives, and a decline in gross profit due to an increase in inventory-disposal sales. Profit attributable to owners of the parent is expected to break even due to gains on the sale of fixed assets.

The reasons the company gives

The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers.

The revision reflects a decline in the customer base resulting from the reorganization of the business domains as customer targets were clarified, order shortfalls in the mail-order business due to delays in the progress and realization of the effects of digital-shift initiatives, and a decline in gross profit due to an increase in inventory-disposal sales. Profit attributable to owners of the parent is expected to break even due to gains on the sale of fixed assets. Executive compensation is being reduced to clarify management's responsibility for the downward revision.
