「The company applied the Accounting Standard for Revenue Recognition and related standards from the beginning of the current first quarter and recognises revenue at the amount expected to be received in exchange for the promised goods or services when control of those goods or services is transferred to the customer. As a result, for revenue from certain customers, the company changed from recognising revenue on a gross basis to recognising it on a net basis. Previously, to cover the expected use of awarded points, the company recorded the expected future usage amount as a provision for points and deducted the provision expense from revenue. It has changed to identifying awarded points as performance obligations and allocating the transaction price based on their standalone selling price, calculated after considering expected future expiries and other factors. As a result, revenue for the cumulative first quarter increased by ¥14 million, while operating loss, ordinary loss and loss before income taxes for the quarter each decreased by ¥14 million.」
