The reasons the company gives
The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers.Revenue increased as the company captured personal consumption and demand for special occasions, implemented lunch initiatives, expanded sales of high-value-added products, opened new locations and strengthened app-based promotions. Operating income absorbed increases in labor costs and utilities through a review of food procurement, sales of high-value-added products, productivity improvements, shift management and energy conservation initiatives. The decline in net income reflects the inclusion of a ¥1,310 million deferred income tax adjustment gain in the previous fiscal year.
