- FY2025AdvancedAnnual report
「We are working on the development of elemental technologies in various fields, from communications infrastructure to toys, primarily through the development of sensors, communications modules and compact wireless modules used in electronic equipment. We are also developing products that use various sensor technologies, as well as next-generation flash-memory products for the amusement market.」
Compact wireless modules were added to the research and development scope, while development of sensors, communications modules and next-generation flash memory continues. Research and development expenses totaled ¥779 million. - FY2023AdvancedAnnual report
「In joint research with the National University Corporation Hokuriku Institute of Science and Technology (hereinafter, JAIST), we continue to study an electrolyte capable of retaining high voltage in next-generation capacitors using graphene electrodes developed by Tsukuba MIMS. Our goal is to achieve capacitors with higher energy density.」
The joint research has advanced from high-density capacitors using graphene electrodes to research on electrolytes capable of retaining high voltage. - FY2022Joint research advances to high-density capacitors, thermoelectric power generation and decarbonized materialsAnnual report
「In the third year of our joint research with the National University Corporation Hokuriku Institute of Science and Technology, we shifted from carbon-nanotube next-generation capacitors to a scheme using graphene as the electrode material to achieve high-density capacitors. The Peltier device project using common metals entered its final year under the Supporting Industry Program (Strategic Advancement of Core Technologies). We are engaged in evaluating its thermal conversion effects and will promote its practical application in areas including thermoelectric power generation. We are also working on the challenge of mass-producing plastics made by mixing natural resin derived from thinned cedar with petroleum-based materials. We aim to propose materials that contribute to decarbonization and resource circulation, thereby helping to address challenges facing Japan’s electronics industry.」
In addition to its existing research and development on sensors and communications modules, the joint research entered its third year and advanced from carbon nanotubes to high-density capacitors using graphene electrodes. The Peltier device project entered the final year of its support program, and the company is also addressing the challenge of mass-producing plastics using natural resin. - FY2021Expansion of research and development themes to sensors, communications, AI and new materialsAnnual report
「We are working on the development of elemental technologies in various fields, from communications infrastructure to toys, primarily through the development of sensors and communications modules used in electronic equipment. We are also developing products that use various sensor technologies, as well as next-generation flash-memory products for the amusement market. Our joint research with the National University Corporation Hokuriku Institute of Science and Technology, which began in the previous consolidated fiscal year, has entered its second year. Using ¥10 million allocated for the current year, we are pursuing two themes: carbon-nanotube next-generation capacitors and Peltier devices using common metals.」
The research and development scope has expanded from the previous focus on IoT and electronic-money payments to include sensors, communications modules, next-generation flash memory, carbon-nanotube next-generation capacitors and Peltier devices. - FY2017RestatedAnnual report
