「To decarbonize the LP gas business, we began considering pipeline supply of a hydrogen-LP gas blend. The initiative was selected as a commissioned project of the New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO), a national research and development agency, and will verify the CO2 reduction effects and safety of blending hydrogen into LP gas for pipeline supply. In the future, we envisage demonstration testing for customers in Minamisoma, Fukushima Prefecture. This will be Japan's first initiative to supply hydrogen by pipeline to ordinary homes using existing supply infrastructure and equipment.」
