「At a Board of Directors meeting held on 29 July 2019, the Company resolved to establish a new R&D center on the site of its Osaka head office. The facility is intended to create social innovation that uses the power of sports to address social issues by expanding the definition of sports beyond competitive settings to include physical activity in everyday life. In addition to athletes, it will study biometric and movement data from people of all ages in daily life and aspects of human emotional activity that have previously been considered difficult to study. By actively integrating knowledge from external research institutions in fields such as neuroscience and ergonomics, the Company will develop products, services, and spaces that further improve athletes' performance and enhance consumers' quality of life (QOL).」
The Company resolved to establish a new R&D center at its Osaka head office. The planned floor area was approximately 5,000 m², planned investment was approximately ¥5 billion, construction was scheduled to begin in April 2021, and completion was scheduled for the fiscal year ending March 2022.
