「Previously, income and expenses of overseas subsidiaries were translated into yen using the spot exchange rate at the fiscal year-end. From the first quarter of the current fiscal year, we have changed to a method using the average exchange rate during the period.」
Because the significance of overseas subsidiaries increased, the Company changed the translation method for income and expenses from the fiscal year-end spot rate to the average rate during the period. The policy is intended to smooth the effect of temporary exchange-rate movements and better reflect income and expenses over the accounting period.
