Items this document does not state (11)
These are items the company does not state in this document. We do not leave them blank, nor fill them in from other sources or by inference.
The reasons the company gives
The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers.Revenue declined despite increased sales from new launches in Japan, due to weak sales in Europe and China and the impact of foreign exchange translation differences caused by the appreciation of the yen in North and South America. The increase in U.S. tariff measures, import-related trouble costs, and new-launch costs exceeded the improvement effects from new launches in Japan, workforce reductions in Europe and China, and the closure of the German plant, resulting in lower operating income. Ordinary income declined due to the decrease in operating income and the occurrence of foreign exchange losses. Net income reflected the liquidation loss on a Chinese subsidiary and special retirement payments at a German subsidiary, while a gain on negative goodwill arising from the acquisition of a Mexican subsidiary was recorded.
