「As "business expansion into new fields" beyond bearings and drive shafts, we are pursuing commercialization in four areas: renewable energy, EVs, robotics, and services and solutions. In the renewable energy business, we began selling a "hybrid streetlight" last July that generates electricity from wind and solar power and uses it to illuminate LED lights at night. We are also conducting demonstration tests of 10kW "small wind turbines" and "micro-hydroelectric turbines" that generate electricity simply by being installed in agricultural irrigation channels and other locations, and plan to begin sales successively. In the EV business, we developed a "new in-wheel motor system" and are promoting proposals overseas, where environmental issues are particularly serious. In addition, we added "electric motors and actuators" to our product lineup last May and are promoting them as products that contribute to vehicle electrification and improved fuel efficiency.」
