The companies planned to hold detailed discussions and conclude a final agreement by the end of April 2022. The integration was intended to combine and complement their water engineering technologies and service and business expertise, strengthen their ability to respond to expanding PPP/PFI businesses, enhance procurement capabilities for equipment and construction, strengthen earnings power, establish a strong position in Japan's water and sewage sectors and become a leading company.」
A basic agreement on integrating the domestic water engineering business with JFE Engineering was signed on 3 December 2021. The plan covered a final agreement by the end of April 2022, establishment of a preparation company in April 2022 and the integration taking effect in April 2023.
