The reasons the company gives
The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers. The decline in net sales was the primary factor behind the decrease in profit. In the Apparel Machinery business, customers in Bangladesh, India and other Asian countries continued to take a cautious approach to capital investment, partly due to the impact of the situation in the Middle East. In the Automotive business, the cost ratio deteriorated due to downward price pressure from Chinese manufacturers, challenging business conditions in Southeast Asian markets, soaring aluminium prices and higher fixed-cost burdens resulting from lower production volumes.
