The reasons the company gives

The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers.

Revenue increased on growth in the cosmetics and South Korean businesses, among others. Margins declined because supplies of original products from 9090 and Her lip to were held down in the first quarter ahead of a major collaboration planned for the second quarter, while the sales mix of the lower-margin cosmetics business rose from 4.2% to 13.4%. The decline in operating profit was due to a lower gross margin and increases in personnel expenses, advertising and promotion expenses, payment processing fees, rent, freight and packing expenses, among others. Net income increased because, following the acquisition of full ownership of hr社, the company's entire net income became attributable to owners of the parent.
