Reason for the revision

Operating profit improved because the unit price of products shipped rose as assumed and the purchase price of iron scrap, the main raw material, was below assumptions. In addition, interim net profit is expected to improve as a result of progress in asset sales. For the full year, the Company aims to expand earnings through cost reductions, including the effects of price revisions and reduced raw material usage.

The reasons the company gives

The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers.

For the interim period, operating profit is expected to improve as the unit price of products shipped rose as assumed and the purchase price of iron scrap, the main raw material, was below assumptions. Interim net profit is also expected to improve due to the sale of assets. For the full year, earnings are expected to expand as the effects of price revisions take hold, raw material usage is reduced and costs are cut.
