「From a diversity and inclusion perspective, and particularly because women account for a relatively high proportion of employees in the dispensing pharmacy business, we expect women employees to play an active role, including through their appointment to management positions. Accordingly, we have enhanced systems for maternity leave, childcare and family-care leave, reduced-hours childcare arrangements and other measures, and are improving the workplace environment so that employees can use these systems smoothly and do not have to leave the company because of life events such as childbirth or childcare. For pharmacists, we have also established a system under which employees can choose from 3 employment conditions according to their individual life and career plans: regional-limited employees, who are not transferred outside their region; area-limited employees, who may be transferred within a specified region; and unrestricted employees, who may be transferred anywhere in Japan.」
