The reasons the company gives
The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers.Net sales declined because sales of prepared foods, desserts and soy products fell below the previous year's results, despite sales of kelp and yogurt products exceeding the previous year's results. Operating income increased as advertising investment was focused on initiatives with high cost-effectiveness and expense controls were strengthened. Profit attributable to owners of the parent increased because income taxes and other taxes declined as a result of the loss on valuation of shares of an affiliated company related to the transfer of shares in フーズパレット being treated as a deductible expense for tax purposes.
