「We developed a more efficient construction method for precast pier superstructures by precasting the pile heads, beams and slabs that form the superstructure of marine piers, and using a “steel insertion connection” that allows flexible design to accommodate relative positional deviations between steel pipe piles and pile-head blocks.」
The method uses precast pile heads, beams and slabs and steel insertion connections to reduce marine labor requirements, absorb construction deviations and improve safety. Practical application is planned following field demonstration tests and other steps.
