Factors Behind Changes in Business Performance

Domestic civil engineering revenue increased as major projects, particularly large-scale port construction projects, progressed steadily. Profit increased due to higher revenue and an improved gross profit margin. Domestic building revenue declined because large projects received in prior periods were completed and construction of the large logistics facilities ordered during the current period had not yet reached full scale. Profit nevertheless increased due to a decline in low-margin projects and a higher proportion of projects with improved profitability at the time of order intake. Overseas revenue and profit increased due to progress on major projects in Southeast Asia and Africa and profit contributions from a large-scale port construction project in Africa.
