A restructuring of Japan’s domestic sugar industry in which ITOCHU SUGAR and Nissin Sugar integrated their operations in January 2023 to establish WELLNEO SUGAR. The companies aim to strengthen the competitiveness of Japan’s domestic sugar business by integrating raw-material procurement, refining and sales, and developing products positioned around health.
