Toyota is introducing the new Toyota C-HR+ EV. This mid-size electric vehicle is longer than the C-HR and shorter than the bZ4X, and aims for a range of approximately 403km with a 77kWh battery and front-wheel drive. Pricing is said to start at approximately €540,000 in Europe, equivalent to about ¥9.99 million.
The new Toyota C-HR+ EV will be introduced as a model designed exclusively as an electric vehicle. Apart from part of its name, it shares little with the C-HR, although the basic form is similar. It is 17cm longer overall and features an electric powertrain design closer to that of the bZ4X.
The vehicle is equipped with a Panasonic-made 77kWh battery. The front-wheel-drive 4×2 version produces 224 horsepower, and an all-wheel-drive version is also available. Its range is estimated at 403km on a full charge, with simulations indicating that consumption could be reduced to as low as 14.0kWh/100km depending on efficiency.
The domestic launch timing and official price are not known at this point, but the model is reported to be expected to sell for around €550,000 in the European market as a variant in the same line. The report also discusses rear-seat comfort and cargo-space practicality resulting from the underfloor battery.
Broadly, the C-HR+ is positioned as an EV with a design separate from the conventional C-HR's hybrid-based system, and is introduced as a model targeting the mid-size segment of the EV market.
