World Liberty Financial and MOA Protocol signed a strategic business partnership MOU in Seoul. They plan to expand the use of USD1 in medical tourism and everyday payments, with the commercialization of MOA Card also expected to advance, and referred to expansion into the Japanese market.
At the event “My Own Access: The Future of Borderless Wealth & Lifestyle,” held at the Grand Hyatt Seoul, World Liberty Financial (WLF) and MOA Protocol signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for a strategic business partnership. WLF CBO Ryan Ballantyne said the company aims to promote USD1 as “a dollar people use,” while the commercialization of MOA Card within the year and a partnership with a Korean medical tourism association were announced.
In the interview, Ballantyne emphasized expanding USD1 use cases and highlighted mechanisms to encourage payment use in everyday life. MOA has already launched DeFi products that allow users to use USD1 through USDT, and aims to enable USD1 top-ups through MOA Card within the year. Korea’s medical tourism market is large, and MOA indicated a policy of expanding its network for using USD1 in medical, hotel and restaurant settings.
Looking ahead, the parties expressed an intention to expand the partnership between MOA and the Korean medical tourism association across Asia and explore opportunities to use USD1 in the Japanese market. Ballantyne emphasized the importance of “creating places where USD1 is used, rather than simply buying and holding it,” and expressed an eagerness to enter the Japanese market. The spread of MOA Card and expansion of its distribution network will be key, and the parties indicated that actual USD1 usage will serve as a guide for future growth.
As a watch item, the view was repeatedly expressed that actual USD1 usage will become a more important metric than market capitalization. The focus going forward will be on accelerating adoption by creating real demand and expanding distribution, including the commercialization of MOA Card within the year, its expansion across Asia and the search for listing opportunities for USD1 in the Japanese market.
